About

Performance can encourage empathy and understanding among audiences, enabling them to connect with the subject matter on a personal level. By employing various artistic techniques, such as visual storytelling, music, and movement, performance can create a sensory experience that elicits emotional responses and fosters compassion. By allowing individuals to witness and empathize with shared  experiences performance can begin the process of breaking down barriers and creating a more inclusive society.

My current Contemporary Performance Practices Postgraduate Degree at the University of East London has allowed me to create work that truly reflects their artistic perspective and message.  My practice focuses around topics that are important to me, such as Queer Theatre, and Biographical performances.

As an artist I enjoy creating work that does not merely require my audience to sit back passively and observe, but rather full immerse them in these worlds.  Exploring a range of disciplines, from experimental 1-1 performances, to auditory experiences, my work is constantly seeking to push the boundaries to fully engage my audience.

My overall goal as theatre maker is to create engaging and impactful performance work that speaks to the society in which we live and the problems we face. The purpose of my work is not to solve problems, but I believe that it can open up conversations that lead to solutions.

Today's mainstream theatre provides an incredible escapism experience away from our daily lives. However as an artist, I feel there is so much 'popcorn theatre' out there that there is room for the wider variety of performances that currently people, as consumers, are robbing themselves of the chance to witness.
